.......................................................................................................................................................
Angling in Northern India has much more to it than just mahseer or goonch. Especially if the idea of angling is to enjoy the time spent in good surroundings pursuing the not so gentle art of angling. It also helps to catch other fish when the object of desire is not cooperating.

Chasing other fish keeps one occupied when mahseer are not cooperating. We have on hand locations for fishing for most of the major carps and peninsular catfish. Som are good eating and some fight really well, especially the catla and mrigal of the Terai dams. Post-monsoon sessions in the smaller connecting river provides outstanding light tackle sport.

Labeo dero, 8lbs. Mystus seenghala, 4lbs.

To help mahseer populations in Himachal, we organise Catfish Expeditions to Pong Dam in Kangra District. Ever since the introduction of singhara (Mystus seenghala), mahseer populations have suffered from severe depredation and habitat takeover. This catfish used to reach lengths of upto 5' in Assam but we've scored some 4 footers so far.

Needlefish, 13"

And then of course there's always the weird and wonderful, like this 12" needlefish (Xenentodon cancila) taken on a plug. We've caught this fish on flies ad flyspoons too.

Wherever you fish with us, we'll help you see more than the run of the mill angler does.
