......................................................................................................................................................
Over the past 10 years, we have come to specialize in a few but reliable beats which have provided us and guests with utmost satisfaction. From scenic locations to superlative fishing, we'll take you to places known to few anglers and even fewer tourists. To make sure our spots aren't spoilt by others, we won't mention exact spots either. A big hint for those who like to do pre-assault research- there are books about mahseer and locations that can be looked up....

For us, fishing in a great place is as important as the fishing itself, as is keeping it good for fishing. To this end, all camps are set at some of the most picturesque places along the rivers we fish. There's nothing quite like waking up to a Himalayan sunrise next to a quiet glide and heading straight for a session on the water before you're awake- you can even have tea by the river to wake up.
Although we're familiar with most mahseer waters between Himachal Pradesh in the West to Arunachal Pradesh in the East. Being natives of Uttarakhand, we're most familiar with our waters and can host many a good fishing time. A brief look at rivers we can take you to:

The Ganga river:
If you're an angler who can shut out everything except the river and the fishng, the holy Ganga is an amazing river full of blessings for the beginner and specimen hunter alike. This is the least poached river in the country (not counting the tributaries) and fish have found religious sanctuary for millennia. From certain spots above the river, especially below certain bridges one can see the size of fish that inhabit it. It is also a good indicator of what size fish you can get into.
We fish from our associates' rafting camps all along the Ganga river from Devprayag to Rishikesh which makes this a wonderful location for easy fishing and diversions from it.

The Western Ramganga River:
If ever you feel like fishing a wild river where elephants drink from the pool you'll fish in, or fancy being warned off by tigers in search of the most colourful specimens of golden mahseer, here's where to head for. Mahseer in the 20's to 40's are available for those who can stalk a river properly. For the best part of the year, the Ramganga runs crystal clear making it possible to spot the fish and then cast to it. Things get tough for the angler because this is a well fished river and the fish can see you too.
The old jungles that the river flows through makes one feel like the only anglers in a primeval world and one you meet a goonch, everything seems appropriately prehistoric. When the jungle beats get over, one can head to the upriver section as well, where in certain spots extremely good fishing can be had.
Ramganga valley is fished from our associates camp- Camp Forktail Creek and fishes the buffer zone beats of Corbett National Park. The upper waters can offer better fishing and are fished on expedition basis- we camp out and carry all camping gear, cook, and gillies.

Pancheshwar area, Sarju and Mahakali rivers:
Our spiritual home near the confluence of two rivers- the Saryu and the Kali. One is a perennial springfed, the other a moody snowfed. Add the mystique of fishing the remote heartland of wild mahseer and you have Pancheshwar. One has the choice of fishing either a big springfed river- the Saryu or a big snowfed- the Kali. Since everything is big around here, so are the mahseer. This is one of the few places left in the Himalayas of a 50 plus pounder. The other big plus is that this is the only river system with four mahseers- golden, redfin, copper and chocolate. And anything can happen. The Saryu fishes well almost all year round as is usual with springfeds but the best time for the biggest fish is before they begin the breeding run in May-June and then after the run is over around September. Many fish choose to remain behind in the the larger pools of the Saryu and some go back to the lower drainage of the Kali.

Pancheshwar area can be fished from our fixed camp at the head of the valley on the Sarju river. One can also run a 5 day raft and fish trip down the Sarju from the camp. Or one can run the entire Kali river from Camp over a period of 14 days. The options are many, you just need the time. Fishing the Saryu-Kali is on expedition basis (New Delhi to fishing and back) to marked runs and pools away from the regular beats. Contact us for details or better still, book a session and find out.

We've been working in these areas for the last 10 years and no one knows the fishing or the people like we do. Fishing with us at either venue will put you in touch with other places to tangle with fish in any way you like. It is the other rivers and spots we know that make us the finest fishing guides.

All expedition camps are eco-friendly but remote, though in most cases a phone call is a short drive away. Some of the rivers can be fished out of alternate arrangements in Rest Houses, hotels, village residence/inn, etc. on advance request.

Physical fitness is very important since all Himalayan mahseer fishing usually involves stiff hiking and clambering around riverbanks. In hot weather, it takes a tough individual to endure mahseer fishing but the rewards are immense.
Other than fitness, it is recommended to choose locations by level of skill in angling
